How to optimize the packing?

A good packing is the key to minimize the shipping costs.
Our packaging team gives you some more information to help you to understand and to calculate the final weight of your order.

First some number:
1 pair of Sandals is about 0.2 Kgs.
1 Cloth / Sarong is between 0.2 and 0.3 Kgs.
An order of 1,000 USD of silver is about 2 Kgs.
An order of about 1,000 USD of beads jewelry is about 22 Kgs.

Handbags are more difficult to calculate because the weight will depend on the volume:
One of our standard box’s size is 50 x 58 x 33 cm (20 x 23 x 13 inches).
The volumetric weight of this box is 16.5 Kgs.
This means that even if the real weight is let said 5 Kgs, the forwarder will charge us 16.5 Kgs …

This is very important.
Lets said for example we got 2 boxes: one box is 25 Kgs and the other is 8 Kgs.
The forwarder will charge us: 25 Kgs + 16.5 Kgs (minimum weight per box) = 41.5 Kgs.

Our packaging team always does their best to share the weight so the boxes are always close from 16.5 Kgs.
In this case, we would takes out 8 Kgs of the 25 Kgs box and put it in the 8 Kgs box so it becomes: 17 Kgs + 16 Kgs = 33 Kgs.
We just saved 41.5 Kgs - 33 Kgs = 8.5 Kgs.

This case happens when we have for example a lot of big bags in one box and a lot of beaded jewelry in the other box.
We always mix the products to make the shipping more efficiency…
In this case we would add some jewelry inside the bags, or bags inside the other bags…. So we can get close from the 16.5 Kgs per box.

The weight of a small bag is only about 0.15 to 0.3 Kgs.
The big bags are light but the volumetric weight is a lot. We only can put a few bags per box… between 5 to 10 bags.

This must also helps you to understand that if you order only big bags… the shipping might be high. Make sure you have some sandals, jewelry or smaller bags so our team can fill up the big bags…
